Exhibition Guidelines

We are presently accepting applications for gallery shows. To apply, you must submit a small portfolio consisting of 5 or more samples of your work and an artist statement which should ideally provide a context for this show. This statement could accompany your exhibition if desired. Please see the "About Us" page for gallery floor plan.

You can email jpegs of your work to thefiftyfifty@gmail.com or supply us with a web page featuring your works. Additionally, one can email us to arrange to drop off either photos or slides to the gallery (please note that we are not open regular hours every week).

If you are dropping off samples please be aware that we would need to hold onto them for at least two weeks.
Art Shows generally run for the course of 10 days over 2 weekends. Exhibition hours are: 1-5pm and we are closed on Monday and Tuesday. Please note: Gallery shows can be combined with a store front installation depending on availability of this space. see below for more info. We encourage artists to supply an artist statement to accompany their show. If one is not provided the curator may be compelled to create one. The gallery space is provided at little expense to the artist. We ask that a $50.00 deposit be left with the collective until the gallery has been cleared and left in adequate condition. STORE FRONT INTSALLATIONS:

Our multi store-front window is naked and must be clothed!
We are presently seeking artists who are interested in presenting their art or craft in the store front window display case of our space.  We are particularly eager to see the window space be utilized in a three dimensional manner.  This may mean creating an installation to custom fit the space or  creating a visually stimulating or thought provoking habitat in which your 2-Dimentional works could live. Such an installation can also be combined with a gallery show if available.
The window space is approximately 10ft wide x 10 ft high x 3 ft deep. Please see the "About Us" page for gallery and store front floor plan.

Please note that white curtains can be drawn along the back edge of the display case and almost anything can be hanged on the back plain of the window space using a wire hanging system, weight being the limitingfactor. Also note that anything goes.  It does not have to be art in a conventional sense.  A window display could include locally designed clothing for example.  

If you would like to pitch an idea for a window display please send us an email including a brief description of what you intend to do and if available, a supporting image(s) that either relates directly to the plan for the window or presents a sample of previous work.  An image is not mandatory but will go a long way in communicating your idea effectively, therefore it is highly recommended.
